Character Information
Name: Ruler (Jeanne d'Arc)
Canon: Fate/Grand Order
Canon Point: First Singularity: Hundred Years War of the Evil Dragons: Orleans
Age: 19
History: Ruler @ Type Moon Wikia. Here contains a summary of all Singularities, with Orleans being the focus for Ruler's history. It should be noted that because of errors in her summoning, Ruler has no recollections of other times she's been summoned from the Throne of Heroes, so her history from Fate/Apocrypha is unneeded here.
Personality: With her pure and kindhearted nature, Ruler truly lives up to the saintly image of Jeanne d'Arc that has lasted for so long after her death. She intensely believed in the good of others, even those who don't believe they have any good themselves, and will always try and help a person in need. This... might hurt her more than help on some occasions, but being the helpful soul that she is, Ruler tries not to let such things wear her down.
It's been said that Ruler is pure of heart to the point where it's impossible to have a dark side, and that certainly seems to be true. The corrupted creation of Jeanne Alter aside, Ruler has shown a remarkable lack of ill-will towards those that have wronged her; in the First Singularity, she shows no bitterness towards England or its soldiers for her capture and execution (despite the latter happening mere days before), nor France itself for not doing more to prevent it. No, she doesn't see these people as enemies or allies, just people, and she'll help them all the same. To Ruler, there's nobody that doesn't deserve help; even during the Demon Tower event, where Edmund Dantes tried to draw out wrath over her execution, all Ruler wanted was to help him, a man she didn't even know, simply because she believed he was suffering.
This sort of desire to help others has its downsides. There's only so much you can do for those who don't want help, after all, and it seems like Ruler doesn't fully understand this, which is what leads to her defeat when confronting Dantes multiple times. Ruler knows that not everyone might want her help, but she'll still fight for them anyway. She'll believe in the good of others and their chance at redemption until her last breath. That being said, though she'll fight with all her strength to help, if she believes the only way to do so is to defeat her opponent, she won't hold back in that regard.
Outside of battle and butting heads with bitter Avengers, Ruler is an incredibly kind, mild-mannered girl. More often than not she can be found with a smile on her face, and even the most grumpy of Servants find it hard to fight against that sunny attitude. She'll brush off Jeanne Alter's seething frustrations, which she reads as just some kind of little sister acting out, just because she's happy to be working with the Alter she tried to help! Even when confronting enemies from Fate/Apocrypha, she's much happier to be working with them, rather than against them.
(Except Shakespeare. Forget that guy.)
Being a saint, it's no surprise that Ruler has an incredibly humble side to her. She flusters easily when others heap praise upon her, and often tries to downplay her amazing achievements. She rarely even thinks of herself as a soldier; she's just a standard-bearer, a little girl who barely knows how to use a sword. The memories she looks back on most fondly don't even involve battle or her victories; what she enjoyed most in life was her years growing up in Domremy, as a simple peasant with a simple life. She's seen to be somewhat wistful for this life she left behind sometimes, and wonders if there was ever a chance for her to return to it, had she not been burned at the stake...
As wistful as she is for her first life sometimes, Ruler has a fierce sense of duty and devotion to her missions that drives her forward with very little that can stop her, which leaves her with very little regrets over her life. Jeanne d'Arc is stubborn, she does not know the meaning of giving up. Even if it hurts herself, even if her enemies wind up bringing her down in her desire to fight for others (even those who don't want her to fight for them, as mentioned above), her will to fight persists. She is a girl who turned the tides of a year-long siege in a matter of days and kept going. Injury and capture did little to stop her; she would throw herself back into battle the next day, and attempted to escape many times. Ruler's spirit is an eternally burning flame, and almost nothing can quench it.
... Well. Almost nothing, except her own self-doubt. Though it doesn't pop up often, Ruler is seen to doubt her own abilities sometimes. She's just one untrained girl, after all. She worries about her inability to do things alone, whether her part in the Hundred Years War truly helped her nation or just led her to a too-early grave... but she doesn't like thinking about these things. She's a girl who does her best to live her life without regrets, looking ahead to a brighter tomorrow, and for the most part, it seems like she's succeeded.
Abilities: obligatory fate/player apology for how wordy this shit is
Servant: Ruler is a Servant, a spirit of a long-dead legendary hero summoned to fight in the Holy Grail War and bound to a magus - their Master. Servants, even the weakest and most easily dispatched ones, are many times stronger than even the strongest humans, and are just as durable. To fuel this strength, Servants feed off mana as a power source; they normally receive this through their contract with their Master, but if a Master is unable to provide their Servant with enough mana to sustain themselves, the Servants can drain it from othet humans, whether through consuming their souls, drinking their blood, or other.... racier methods that will be glossed over here. And if they need to conserve their mana, they have the ability to enter an invisible Spirit Form, which allows them to pass through things like walls and locked doors. For the sake of making things easy in-game, I'll assume that her bond with her God will fuel Ruler like a proper contract would.
As a Ruler, Jeanne's original Master is the Holy Grail itself, and she's offered several unique abilities thanks to her class's role as administrator in the Grail War, including being gifted with command spells of her own (and the ability to transfer them to Masters competing in the war) and the ability to sense a Servant no matter where they are (as opposed to only sensing them when they get within a certain distance of herself). However, Ruler notes that there were errors in her summoning thanks to another Ruler being present in France at the time of her summoning, so some of her abilities are downgraded or missing, the most noticeably being those two.
Like with all Servants, Ruler has several abilites and Noble Phantasms in her arsenal, and these are listed below:
True Name Revelation: The ability to instantly know a Servant's True Name and stats, though if a Servant has an ability that can hide their true form (like Mordred's helm) then they have the chance to negate this. This skill has been rendered null thanks to the errors in her summoning.
Revelation: A sort of sixth-sense, which allows Ruler to predict what might be the best route to accomplish her goal. In FGO this is represented as a buff to critical chance, so it'll be just a vague sixth sense feeling in The Far Shore, mainly just in battle.
Magic Resistance: Servant skills are ranked on a scale of E (the worst) to A, with only a select few ranking above that. Ruler's Magic Resistance is an obscenely-ranked EX, which means nothing but extremely powerful holy magic can damage her. This has its conditions, though; her Magic Resistance doesn't negate spells, only directs them away from her. So if someone were to shoot a beam of fire at her, it would divert away from her, but still strike a point nearby. It also doesn't negate magic cast on a person, meaning that any physical enhancements or similar buffs an enemy casts on themselves will still work when they attempt to attack Ruler.
Luminosite Eternelle: God is Here With Me: Ruler's first and main Noble Phantasm. By holding her standard out and speaking a short prayer, Ruler is able to project her own Magic Resistance into a barrier to shield herself and her allies. Like her innate Magic Resistance, Luminosite Eternelle doesn't negate incoming attacks and instead merely pushes them aside, meaning that side-effects such as curses can still slip through. It also has a rejuvinating effect on Ruler's allies, healing them a fair amount and increasing their hardiness a bit. There is a downside to this, though; for a short time after activating this Noble Phantasm, Ruler is stunned, unable to move or act until the paralysis wears off.
La Pucelle: The Crimson Saint: Her second Noble Phantasm, and one that she will likely never use under any circumstances. With many Noble Phantasms being representations or allusions to a Servant's legends, La Pucelle is the manifestation of Ruler's most famous - her burning at the stake. It manifests as her sword, which itself is harmless (or... as harmless as a sword can be) but when she speaks a prayer, it activates and summons a sea of flames. The flames will burn only those whom Ruler wills it, no matter the enemy's vicinity to herself or her allies(who will remain unharmed), and will burn them to death. As this is the manifestation of Ruler's own death, the flames of her funeral pyre, she too will burn to death at the end of the attack.
Strengths: Brave, altruistic, optimistic, kindhearted, devoted
Weaknesses: Stubborn, self-doubting, naive, too trusting, self-abnegating
God/Shinki: Shinki
Why?: In her first life, Ruler followed the word of God to liberate her homeland, and in her second, she was summoned as a Servant of the Holy Grail itself to act as a mediator in the First Singularity. To be a shinki is the perfect role for her!
Cause Of Death: In the final encounter with Jeanne Alter at the end of the First Singularity, the corrupted clone strikes a fatal blow against Ruler, running her through with her sword.
Vessel: Her battle standard a flag on a long pole with a speartip at the end, which functions as both a symbol and a weapon.
Name Location: On her chest, right over her heart.
Power: Pyrokinesis. Ruler technically has some command over fire thanks to her second Noble Phantasm, and since the shinki power of creating borderlines can tie in well to her first Noble Phantasm, then command over fire is a fitting personal skill for her. Irony aside.
Ruler will be able to create and control fire, though her power will act differently depending on which. If she's manipulating an already available fire source, it's easier to control and shape to her will. Creating fire makes it harder to control, and takes a lot more out of her. It also has some limitations on just how much she can do; when creating fire from nothing, she can't initially summon anything bigger than a baseball-sized fireball. Once it comes into contact with another object, then Ruler can stoke it to a larger and larger flame, up to the size of a small bonfire.
How much she can create at first and the size of the flame can improve, of course, over time and with enough training over her time in the game, but it won't be infinite, and will also largely be reigned in by Ruler's own phobia of fire.

Anything Else?: I'd love it if she could be assigned as Princess Zelda's shinki! Jamie and I have already discussed it.
